Newborn session in Massachusetts meadows with Lea Jones

There are few things I love more than taking newborn photos after a couple’s wedding. I photographed this beautiful wedding early fall in Rhode Island, and was so excited to get a message: “ hey are you available for a newborn session?” wait? what? of course!

We went back and forth for a day or two trying to decide what the best options were, studio or home and then we decided to do the session in the outdoors, because us new englanders can’t get enough of the greenery and the beauty of color after our dull winters!

I actually don’t recall ever doing a newborn session outdoor, and I loved it so much. I usually love the intimacy of the home but I also recognize that getting your house clean and nice looking a week after baby is born is quite the challenge, especially when moms need a little bit more time to heal and rest. I think I will definitely keep offering outdoor new born sessions. They are also easier with sibling because they can run around and have a little bit more freedom.
